Technical Guide & User Instructions
This technical guide provides standard installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting guidelines for all Prikod dehumidifier models. Following the instructions below ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and longer service life of the unit.
1. Installation Requirements
- Place the dehumidifier on a flat, stable floor to avoid tilting, water leakage, and abnormal noise.
- Reserve at least 20cm of open space on all sides for air intake and heat dissipation.
- Do not install the unit in direct sunlight, high-temperature environments, or outdoor open areas.
- Keep the unit away from walls, curtains, furniture, and heat-generating equipment.
- Use a standard independent power socket to avoid overload and power surge damage.
2. Working Environment Parameters
- Applicable ambient temperature: 41°F – 95°F (5°C – 35°C)
- Applicable humidity range: 30%RH – 90%RH
- Suitable for basements, crawl spaces, warehouses, garages, offices, and indoor storage areas.
- The unit may reduce dehumidification efficiency under extremely low temperature or low humidity conditions, which is a normal physical phenomenon.
3. Daily Operation Tips
- Close doors and windows during operation to prevent outdoor humid air from entering and affecting dehumidifying results.
- Set a reasonable humidity target between 45%RH–60%RH for the most comfortable indoor environment.
- Allow the machine to run continuously for 24–48 hours for initial use to achieve the best drying effect.
- Do not turn off and restart the machine frequently. Wait at least 3–5 minutes before restarting to protect the compressor.
4. Regular Maintenance
- Clean the air filter every 1–2 weeks to avoid clogging, reduced airflow, and low efficiency.
- Clean the surface and air duct regularly to prevent dust accumulation.
- Check the drainage pipe regularly to ensure smooth water outflow and avoid water backflow or leakage.
- Turn off and unplug the unit if it will not be used for a long time. Empty all water and keep the machine dry.
5. Common Troubleshooting
- Low dehumidification effect: Dirty filter, poor ventilation, low ambient temperature, or frequent opening of doors and windows.
- Abnormal noise: Unstable placement, foreign objects inside the fan, or uneven ground.
- Water leakage: Blocked drain pipe, tilted unit, or blocked water tank outlet.
- Unit not running: Power failure, full water protection, or improper temperature/humidity environment triggering system protection.
6. Safety Precautions
- Do not spray water directly on the machine or operate it in flooded areas.
- Do not disassemble or modify the internal structure without professional guidance.
- Unplug the power cord before cleaning or maintaining the unit.
- Stop using immediately if abnormal smell, smoke, or circuit failure occurs.
