Product Selection & Capacity Sizing Questions
What's the difference between DH-145 and DH-245 models?
DH‑70: 70 Pints/day, covers up to 1,000 sq. ft; 410W. Ideal for basements, closets, bedrooms, and small storage rooms.
DH‑145: 155 Pints/day, covers up to 6,000 sq. ft; 1,050W. Suitable for offices, archives, small warehouses, gyms and swimming pools.
DH‑245: 260 Pints/day, covers up to 8,500 sq. ft; 1,300W. Heavy‑duty units for large warehouses, industrial workshops, museums and libraries.
How to calculate the right pint size dehumidifier for my space?
Measure your total square footage first. Severely damp spaces (coastal basements, crawl spaces, swimming pools) require one‑size‑larger units for stable humidity control. Our team offers free sizing consultation if you share your room dimensions and humidity conditions with us.
Can these industrial units work in crawl spaces?
All three models come with a built‑in condensate pump that supports 16.5 ft upward drainage, making them ideal for crawl spaces without floor drains. The auto‑defrost system maintains consistent performance in low‑temperature underground environments.
Are Prikod dehumidifiers IP24 rated?
Yes. The all‑metal rust‑resistant enclosure meets the IP24 dust‑ and moisture‑resistance rating, suitable for damp construction sites, warehouses and humid workshop environments.
Can I use the machine in RV, camper or small mobile storage?
The DH‑70 compact commercial model, fitted with lockable casters and ergonomic handles, is portable enough for RV, trailer and temporary‑storage use. DH‑145 and DH‑245 are built for fixed large‑scale commercial spaces.
Do the units work for production workshops and battery factories?
DH‑145 and DH‑245 heavy‑duty models are widely used in SMT electronic workshops, battery production lines, and dried‑fruit warehouses to maintain low humidity and prevent moisture‑related product damage.
Daily Operation, Drainage & Function Guide
What is the ideal indoor humidity setting?
The optimal humidity range for living and storage is 40%‑60% RH. Set 45%‑50% for daily comfort; set 40%‑45% for warehouses, archives and production‑storage spaces to effectively prevent mold and corrosion.
Can I run the dehumidifier 24 hours nonstops?
All Prikod industrial dehumidifiers support continuous 24‑hour operation. An auto‑shutoff feature activates when the water tank reaches full capacity to prevent overflow.
Two drainage modes: gravity drain vs built-in pump drain, how to choose?
Gravity drain: Best for spaces with floor drains positioned below the unit. Simply connect a hose for natural water outflow.
Built‑in pump drain: Ideal for basements, crawl spaces, or sinks located above the unit. The pump lifts water up to 16.5 ft for long‑distance discharge; no manual tank emptying is needed.
Does the unit have automatic defrost function?
Yes. Auto‑defrost comes pre‑installed on all DH‑series models. When ice forms on the coil in low‑temperature conditions, the unit melts frost automatically without pausing dehumidification.
Is there a 24-hour programmable timer?
All models include a 24‑hour programmable‑timer function. You may set scheduled startup and shutdown cycles to save energy for unattended spaces.
How noisy are the commercial dehumidifiers?
The DH‑70 operates at lower decibel levels, well‑suited for bedrooms and offices. The DH‑145 and DH‑245 produce higher‑volume airflow with louder fan noise at maximum speed; these models work best for warehouse and industrial environments, not quiet sleeping areas.
Will the dehumidifier eliminate mold and musty odors?
Yes. Mold and mildew thrive above 60% relative humidity. By steadily lowering indoor moisture levels, the unit stops mold growth and effectively removes damp, stale basement odors.
Do I need to empty the water tank regularly?
If you connect a continuous pump or gravity‑drain hose, manual tank emptying is not required. Without a drainage setup, empty the tank once full; the unit will auto‑shut‑down to prevent water leakage.
Can I move the dehumidifier easily between rooms?
Lockable universal casters and heavy‑duty top handles come standard on all units, allowing easy pushing and repositioning across flat floors. Adjustable feet stabilize the unit on uneven concrete surfaces.
What power supply does the unit require?
All DH‑series units run on standard 110V‑120V / 60 Hz US household power. Do not connect to 220V outlets unless you use a step‑down transformer. A dedicated 15A circuit is recommended for the DH‑145 and DH‑245 to prevent circuit‑breaker tripping.
Maintenance, Cleaning & Troubleshooting
How often should I clean the air filter?
Clean the mesh filter every 2‑4 weeks under normal‑use conditions; clean it weekly in dusty workshops or construction‑site environments. Rinse with clean water and allow it to air‑dry completely before reinstallation. Clogged filters will drastically reduce dehumidification efficiency.
What routine maintenance does the industrial unit need?
Weekly: Clean the air filter
Monthly: Inspect the drainage hose for blockages or water leakage
Every 6 months: Wipe down the evaporator‑coil surface to remove dust buildup
For long‑term idle storage: Store the unit upright in a dry, well‑ventilated location
How much clearance space should I leave around the unit?
Maintain a minimum of 20 inches (50 cm) clearance on the air‑inlet side and 12 inches (30 cm) on the outlet side. Insufficient clearance restricts airflow, reduces efficiency, and may trigger the over‑heat protection feature.
Why is my dehumidifier running but humidity won't drop?
Common causes:
The unit’s capacity is undersized for your space
Windows or doors remain open, letting continuous humid outdoor air inside
The air filter is completely clogged, restricting airflow
Significant air leakage around walls or basement foundations
Why does the unit freeze up during operation?
Low ambient temperature will trigger coil frosting. The built‑in auto‑defrost system melts ice automatically. If frost persists for multiple hours, check whether the filter is clogged or fan speed is set too low.
Machine shuts down unexpectedly, what to check first?
Water tank is full and triggers auto‑shutoff
Loose power cord or tripped circuit breaker
Unit sitting on uneven ground; Safety tilt protection has activated
Over‑heat protection triggered by blocked air inlet or outlet
Water leaks from the dehumidifier body
Loose or cracked drain‑hose connection
Drain pipe clogged with dirt and debris
Water tank not fully seated in position
Malfunctioning internal condensate pump (contact support for repair)
Unusual loud vibration noise during operation
Unit sits on uneven ground; adjust the support feet to level the unit
Foreign objects trapped inside the fan or air outlet
Improperly installed filter causing air‑flow interference
Can I disassemble the machine myself for repair?
Unauthorized disassembly will void your applicable limited warranty. If troubleshooting steps cannot resolve the issue, stop operating the unit and reach out to our technical‑support team for professional guidance.
My unit won't restart after a power outage - what should I do?
Most models include an auto‑restart function. If the device fails to resume operation, manually press the power button. Verify whether the circuit breaker has reset. For extended power outages, unplug the unit for 5 minutes, then plug it back in — this clears the control‑board memory.
